Baring it All with Industrial Interior Design

Industrial homes are about simplicity, clean lines, and unfinished surfaces. It is organic and engineered, bold and refined. Here’s how we create a raw and unfinished look for the most thoughtfully designed homes.

1. Brick wall

Leaving the bricks exposed would immediately make any home scream industrial. The red brick wall is classic and is great for any living area. What's best is you can have your dream brick wall at a lower cost using urban brick wallpaper. A rustic faux brick effect on your wall can give any room of your home an industrial vibe, just as good as the real thing.

You can always soften the atmosphere using materials like faux fur, wool or leather. These are considered warm materials that will create a soft and cosy atmosphere even if you are surrounded by brick walls.

2. Cement/Concrete

Concrete is a big part of any industrial home. They are uncommon, and create a consistent theme throughout the whole home. Concrete walls or even flooring make an eye-catching interior design feature and suit a variety of styles. These can create a focal point for your home design without the need to decorate much further.

It gives off the “unfinished’’ vibe while if you look at them closely, these “unfinished” surfaces have been given some final touch like coating that makes them last longer and easier to maintain.

3. Pipe it up

Let’s leave everything exposed. While these pipes bring a unique sight to your home, there are many other added benefits. It is a great design choice for homes with very low height. In addition, pipes and plumbing maintenance is much easier with exposed pipes.

Since the industrial style became a trend, leaving pipes and tubes exposed is no longer a design taboo but rather, their presences are often seen in many homes.

4. Goodbye chandelier

Lighting is a very important factor to consider in many homes as to whether or not it creates the vibe and compliments the overall look of your home.

For industrial design homes, lighting with exposed wires draping across the ceiling and unconventional-looking bulbs are now the “in” thing. From statement pendants in black iron to metallic options or the new hot trend which is the mix of materials like leather, metal and glass, all in one piece, they are beautiful and they bring the wow factor to the area.

5. Black lining

Black linings help to distinguish the various areas in your home, whether it's your home office, gym room or for any other purposes. It's often paired with glass which helps to bring an illusion of a larger space.
